Junior Draftsperson

ECO ENGINEERING LTD. (ECO), is a dynamic client oriented environmental consulting firm located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Reports to: General Manager
Location: Saskatoon, SK (requires travel to project sits throughout the province)
Direct Reports: None
Key Relationships: General Manager, Geo-scientists & Engineers, Business Management & HR Specialist, Project personnel, Key Clients’ personnel, contractors, etc.

Purpose

  • Provide Surveying and Drafting Services to all projects

  • Assist geoscientists/engineers to lead key aspects of projects, where required

Responsibilities

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibilities and sustainable development

  • Ensure conformance with the ECO ENGINEERING Policies and procedures and relevant statutory obligations

  • Promote and ensure compliance with a zero harm culture

  • Promote a team environment and teamwork

  • Assist in implementation of HSE policies and procedures

  • Provide drafting and surveying services for all projects

  • Prepare Site plans, contours, grading plans, cross sections, construction details, area, and volume calculations, etc.

  • Participate in the collection of pertinent data for various phases of the projects

  • Coordinate with geoscientists/engineers and management on project plans and address concerns

  • Assist in assembly of project deliverables to support the overall project plan

  • Complete all tasks assigned on budget and within the schedule

  • Assist in the development of documents required in support of the projects (may include reports, letters, proposals, etc.)

  • Protect and promote ECO’s interest at all times on and off the job

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Training

B.Sc. in Geography, diploma in Geomatics and Surveying Technology, or Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized technical school or 0-5 years of equivalent experience 

Experience:

  • Must have experience using AutoCAD and Civil3D

  • Knowledge of using a GPS Tremble R10 model will be beneficial

  • Preference will be given to applicants with 5 to 10 years of experience in drafting and surveying in municipal infrastructures and or resource management projects
